Getting Ready for the Golden Globes - Past Looks I've Loved

My favorite time of the year is upon us - it's awards season! And while I've chosen to pretend things like the People's Choice Awards did not exist (does anyone watch that?), there's no hiding from the Golden Globes. This is heralded as one of the big pre-cursors to the Oscars - a win here could mean a big win later down the road. I, however, am more interested in what people are wearing. With the stakes so high, stars come out with their Oscar-worthy best.

Here's a look through some of the looks from the past decade (the "ohs"?) that I've loved.

Wow, 2000 was 10 years ago. I'm sure nothing I wore then would remotely register on a list of things I love. But leave it to Sarah Jessica Parker to be gorgeous in any year, as she was in 2000 with this champagne gown by Richard Tyler.

My favorite look of the whole decade would have to be hands down without a doube this one from Reese Witherspoon in Nina Ricci in 2007. It had me going gaga to find my own yellow dress and hot red shoe ensemble.

Nicole Kidman does statuesque glam wonderfully, and 2005 was no exception as she wowed in this teal Gucci.

Jennifer Hudson was my Dreamgirl in this figure flattering and feminine short sleeved, twist front dress in 2007. It's no wonder it was so delightful, it was by Vera Wang.

Carlos Miele always knocks my socks off, so big kudos to Isla Fisher for breaking out this understated but classily gorgeous number from the Brazilian designer in 2009.

This Christian Lacroix was never my cup of tea, but my 2009 awards season was all about Freida Pinto. Even if this mustard number fell short of expectations, she was still the most beautiful actress on the red carpet.

Eva Longoria brought the red to the red carpet in 2009 in this heart stopping gown by Reem Acra.

Drew Barrymore's hair was a total and complete mess at the 2009 Globes. But I've chosen to ignore the coif and focus on this beautiful ice blue gown by Dior. I'm in love.

My second favorite look of the decade was another yellow dress, this time a soft lemony yellow. Charlize Theron hit it out of the ballpark with this soft, feminine Dior gown in 2004. Too bad she couldn't pull together a look this nice for her big Oscar win later in the season.

What do you think, readers? Did I miss any gowns that you just loved?
