Changing things up a bit, we didn't get a hotel but rented an apartment with some of our friends. Here's the entrance.
Here's our living room with all its fancy Ikea furniture.
Here's our loooooong hallway. "helloooooooo, renee!"

and the balcony

Here's some dark scary streets in the Barri Gotic. I was starting to get the willies as it got darker.

Much to my disdain, there were no churros to be found anywhere in Barca, but they did have lots and lots of waffles (gofres) which made Mr. EWP very happy.

What do you do when you go to Barcelona? Clearly you go to the aquarium. Especially since it was SO COLD out.

Here's a cute lizard.

And a pretty scary octopus.

Then we hopped on the funicular and went up Montjuic. We liked watching the shipyards from up there.

This is me on the funicular. It was very exciting.

On the way to the Olympic stadium, we happened on the walk of athletes or something. My foot was very excited to almost play footsie with Rafael Nadal.
And here we are at the Olympic stadium from the '92 Olympics.

I'm an Olympic archer. Aren't you impressed with my athletic prowess?

Did I mention that it was really cold out? I had to buy that scarf for 4 euros, I was about to freeze to death. Walking around Spain at the end of November may not have been the best idea...

And on a sunnier, nicer day, we made our way to Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's cathedral.

This man looked so so sad, I just had to have a picture of him. I'm sorry you're so sad, man on the cathedral.

This was the door to get in:

And gorgeous colors playing off the stained glass windows:

The facade was filled with fun animals, like this angry turtle. I was really excited about him.

Then we got down to business. We went to Spain for one reason and one reason only: to get Laura in her wedding dress.
Here's my bow tying handywork.
Laura was the prettiest bride ever.

Showing off her pink Kate Spade shoes (I'm proud to say I found them for her)
The wedding took place in this gorgeous old cathedral.

And on their way out, the happy couple was pelted with rice. Francesc tried to protect Laura, but it was no use, she was covered in rice.

Here's my blue dress in action with the happy couple.

I'm so glad I spent the money to get a new full length dress for the wedding. The Spanish women really dressed up for the occasion. Their furs and jewels were out in full force. I was happy not to look like an American shlub. PHEW! And Mr. EWP looked pretty cute, too.

And after the wedding, there was one day left for Barcelona wonderfulness. So I went to the Nike store and made out with Rafael Nadal.
