If Only...

I used to carry around tiny little purses. Yes, I still like to have a tiny clutch for evening that barely holds a lipstick and a credit card, but that's just for evenings out. I'm talking about day time. I used to carry tiny purses for day time. I'd look at all those people with large monstrosity of bags and was baffled by what on earth they needed to carry. I'd judge, as I do, laugh, and delight in carrying something that didn't induce shoulder pain.

Those were simpler times. I look back and cannot even believe I managed to fit my life in a 6x3x3 space. My tiny bags were so useless, I decided I'd make room for my monster bags and sold the baby ones on ebay. When did my life get so complicated? I need room for my wallet (which is also 5 times as big as the wallet I carried in the tiny purse days), phone, blackberry, pen (you never know when you might need one), feminine products (you never know when you or a girl in the restroom next to you might need one), 3 lipglosses, keys, camera (I might want to take a picture of a stranger in bad clothes), a book (I might get stuck in an elevator or something and get bored waiting for help), and a change of shoes. What happened to me? What am I going to do when I have children? I don't even know what kind of 30" suitcase I'll end up carrying if that happens. *shudder*

Point of the story is, I now only look for large bags. And when I find one that isn't heinous, I want to grab it and stuff lots and lots of wonderful things I might need in it. So when I ran across this lovely navy number, my heart went pitter patter. And then I saw the pricetag and my heart stopped pitter pattering.

If only...
