Brown is Beautiful

You all are getting to know my new found obsession with the gorgeous Freida Pinto of Slumdog Millionaire. I'm excited for a brown girl on her way to making it big in Hollywood. It's about time brown made its way to Tinseltown. So clearly I was excited to hear she was going to be in Vanity Fair. Just another step to her inevitable superstardom, or so I hope.

Imagine my distress when I saw this:

Yes, she's stunning, and I like the 50s pinup angle. But take a quick look at the Vanity Fair photo and then compare with the real life Freida last month at the SAG Awards:

I know everything in magazines is super photoshopped, but super whitewashed? Were they afraid people wouldn't like her if she was her normal tanned self? I mean this isn't a slight change, they made her a completely different color. Not okay. Hey, VF, brown is beautiful, and Freida Pinto is the most gorgeous girl on the planet. Or at least so I believe for now.
