As I watched Mo'Nique on the red carpet and later accepting an Oscar all I could keep thinking was, I've seen that dress before. I know it.
Oh, yes, it turns out, not only do I know it, I own it. Remember the blue gown I picked up for my friend's wedding in Spain? Also Tadashi. Also blue. Also, assymetrical with a jeweled embellishment.
I can see why Mo'Nique went with it. The blue is great on a woman of color. And the cap sleeves and ruching are oh so flattering on a curvy lady. Though I clearly never would have paired it with that bizarreo flower in her hair.
Now, I've seen items I own pop up on tv and movies before. But never on the red carpet, let alone the Oscars. And it wasn't even a sound editor's wife. It was the Best Supporting Actress' dress.
Good job, me. Good job, Mo'Nique. And obvi good job, Tadashi.
