In my world there are "Work EWP" accessories and there are "non-work EWP" accessories. For work I like to keep the accessories to a minimum and small and classic - just a small string of pearls or tiny little studs. But when I'm not at work, I love to make a big, bold statement.
And with all things in my fashion life, I love to try new things. Mixing things up and trying out different styles is the best way to keep your look fresh. My latest trial was the bib necklace.
For months all I wanted was a bib necklace. (Bib necklace - large necklace that makes a sort of bib on your shirt, so that the embroidery or design looks like it might be part of your top) But like with many things I decide I want, the normal stores hadn't caught on yet, and I just wasn't ready to shell out several hundred buckaroos for something that I wasn't even sure I'd like.
I waited it out, and the bib necklace has finally trickled down into the normal affordable stores. I picked one up at Aldo last week for only $15. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but it was a step into the world of bib necklacage.
So I grabbed a plain sweater top (the necklace is the focal point of the look, you can't have too bold a top or else your items will fight for attention and you will look a hot mess), and topped it with my new bib necklace. Then I stepped out for a day of shopping and waited to see the reaction.
Got 2 compliments on my necklace, 3 compliments on my top, and 1 compliment on my sweater/necklace. I think it was a hit.
Take a look for yourself. What do you think of my bib necklace?
