The BAFTAs are fun because you can always count on the British actresses that I have no idea who they are to come in something ridiculous. This year, as my pictures were limited, I don't have so many crazies for your enjoyment. Or maybe it was because every seemed to opt for neutrals this year.
Without further adieu, let the grading begin!
I don't know who Bonnie Wright is, but she looks an awful lot like Laura Linney. If the photo hadn't been captioned, I would've just been like, oh Laura Linney was at the BAFTAs. But she wasn't, this is Bonnie Wright. Wait a minute! I just imdbed her and it's Ginny Weasley from the Harry Potter films! She looks so old in this picture, I had no idea it was her. That's an automatic F in my book, but her skin looks nice so I'll give her a D.

Before going on and on about how I didn't know who Jaime Winstone was just to be totally wrong, a la Bonnie Wright, I imdbed her first and for sure can say I have no idea who this woman is. All I know is that she is not Marilyn Monroe, nor will she ever be Marilyn Monroe. Sad part of it is, once you get past the hair, and the eyebrows, and the lipstick, and that weirdo fur, the dress underneath seems like it could be pretty. F
Kate Winslet generally is a gorgeous force on the red carpet. But I found this black Stella McCartney dress a big snore. I'm not a fan of black on the red carpet, unless it's big and dramatic a la Lea Michele at the Globes. On the plus side, it shows off her super smokin' hot bod. C+
Olivia Williams was apparently in "An Education" but all I can remember her is her as Bruce Willis's sad widow in "A Sixth Sense." So maybe it was that turn that her seeing dead people and made her go all crazy with the scissor on this black maxi dress by Catherine Walker. I would suggest a different form of therapy next time, something that doesn't leave her looking like a hot mess. F

Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh presented red carpet coverage for MTV in this feathered ensemble. And because of that, she apparently thought it was the MTV music awards and not a real movie awards show. But that silver python-inspired furry caped thing is just a big don't for the BAFTAs. F

Kristen Scott Thomas was boring in black in this Louis Vuitton dress. At least it had some ruffles. B-

Audrey Tatou was a little unconventional in a pinky drapey, poufy Lanvin. I actually really like it. And I also applaud the against the rules pairing of pink with a red clutch and red shoes. Who says pink and red don't go together? A-

Slouchy McSlouchster Kristen Stewart actually looked like a lady for once in this white Chanel dress that I found flirty and fresh. Hate to do this, but I think I have to: A-

Oh Gabourey Sidibe, I want to like you, I really really do. I love a woman of color who actually makes into acclaimed movies. But you are squandering your red carpet outings with ill-fitting, unflattering frocks like this one. It's not even a good color. D

Saoirse Ronan looked beautiful in this young, ruffled, belted Chanel or Burberry (saw it cited as both) dress. I may never forgive her for her character's actions in "Atonement" but this dress and her pretty hair are making some headway towards forgiveness. A

I don't know who Erin O'Connor is and neither does IMDB. Maybe because she wears drab, unmemorable dresses like this snooze of a Louis Vuitton. D

It girl of the moment Carey Mulligan took a risk in this floral-print, treined Vionnet dress. I like the bow, and I like the pattern on top. I'm a little lost with the different lengths on the bottom. B-

The other it girl of the moment Anna Hendricks looked young and fresh in a flirty Pucci dress and Jimmy Choo heels. Not usually my favorite color, I really liked this for being outside the red carpet norm. A-

Rebecca Hall has been in a bunch of movies I've seen, but I don't remember her at all. I will, however, not forget her pointy shoulders in this black dress. Watch out, Rebecca! You could put someone's eye out with that thing! D

Another British actress that I don't recognize, Olivia Grant fulfilled my wacky British actress needs with just her large hair. C

Vera Farmiga was absolutely stunning in this one-shouldered, flowy gown by Marchesa. I heart Marchesa, their stuff is just so feminine and beautiful. Definitely my fave look of the night. A+

This is Tamsin Egerton. I don't know who she is, but I like her dress a lot. It's simple but sweet. However, I totally hate that purse. What is that? B

Pregnant Anne-Marie Duff (no idea who she is) looked positively adorable and glowing in a red Alberta Ferretti gown which she accessorised with silver jewelery including a dragonfly brooch. I may have not known her before, but now I totally heart her. A-

I didn't know Burberry made anything other than trench coats, but Claire Danes knocked it out of the park in this slouchy, draped Burberry gown. A-

Kathryn Bigelow, the fantasticly amazing director of "The Hurt Locker", was fun and flirty in this sequined dress. Still very professional, she kept the accessories to an absolute minimum. Just because I want her to win in everything, including best director and best movie at the Oscars - A+
