(left to right: Rick Bayless of Topolobampo and Frontera Grill, Art Smith of Table 52 and Oprah's former personal chef, and Graham Elliot Bowles of Graham Elliot)I felt pretty special having eaten at all 4 of their restaurants. But what I discovered from watching Top Chef Masters is that I love Chef Bowles. He was totally funny with his man love with Wiley Dufresne (rumor has it the two are pitching their own reality show to Bravo. Clearly I would watch it religiously).

Flash forward to this past weekend. My bestie Kathy came to visit. I love Kathy for so many reasons. She knows what a "transition tee" is and talks about them in regular conversation, she encourages me to not have shoe shame, she was with me when I met Chris O'Donnell, she's also taken up blogging, I'm pretty sure we own all the same clothes, I can tell her anything, and she's a fellow foodie. There's a lot to love. Oh, and she loves Bravo reality tv as much as I do, and was totally hooked on Top Chef Masters. Clearly a pilgrimage to Graham Elliot was necessary.
I thought my Bravo reality tv star stalking luck would continue and we'd get to meet the man himself. I mean, I'd already gone there twice before and missed him, he couldn't be gone every time I went, right? Wrong. But our sweet server could see the crumpled look of disappointment on my face, so she not only gave us a free dessert (SOOOOOO good) but scored us a tour of the Graham Elliot kitchen.
Not as fun as meeting a Bravo reality star, but still pretty awesome. And at least I've met Art Smith. 1 for 3 isn't so bad.
