Met Gala 2009: Anna Wintour

Every year the Metropolitan Museum of Art holds the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala Benefit. I've never quite paid attention to what it benefits. Honestly, I didn't know it was even a benefit until I just googled it to find out what it's real name was instead of "Met's night with lots of celebrities in dresses." So it helps out something or other.

What I really care about are the clothes, obvi. Aside from the Oscars, it's one of my favorite fashion nights of the year. So I'll be posting away with my thoughts on some of the ensembles we've seen.

And what better way to start than with the Devil in Prada (or actually, in this case, Chanel Spring 09 Couture) herself, Anna Wintour.

Well, I hate her hair. But I've always hated her hair. Last night wasn't really any different.

The first time I looked at this dress I immediately thought it was boring and decided I didn't like it. But then I looked again and I decided I liked it. And then I looked again and decided it was a bit of both: I love the column and pattern for the bottom; and I really hate the fit of the top.
