Taraji was hands down one of my favorite dresses of the night. I think I could safely call her my #2. She gets added points for actually lifting her dress and showing the commentators she was wearing Spanx. Oh man, I really love her.Taraji sported one of the many statement necklaces wandering the red carpet Sunday, and I think I actually liked hers the best as, while it made a statement, it wasn't too much and didn't take away from the dress (oh Amy Adams, I will get to you soon). And why would you want to take away from such a ravishing dress? The off white looked fantastic against her fabulous skin (I need her skin care regimen, stat). The dress fit perfectly (with the help of everyone's favorite undergarment). And the ruffles and train gave it the glamour it needed to be worthy of an Oscar red carpet. And can I mention her hair? It's just so shiny and fantastic! And the maroon satin clutch is just the pop of color the ensemble needed. Understated but beautiful. While she may have not won the little naked man statue, she sure did win my heart.
Grade: A+
Now don't think that what people wore after the Oscars escaped my notice. After being the belle of the ball, Taraji thought it would be a good idea to show up to the Vanity Fair party in this:
Um.... couldn't she have just stayed in her Cavalli? The dress is a fright. While the subtle offwhite of the Cavalli looked great, this cream/beige number is the wrong color completely. And don't even get me started on the cut. It looks like she tripped on the front of her dress and ripped it off by accident. Which is a shame because now you can see her terrible shoes. Sadness :( Grade: D
Overall Grade: B
