Keeping from SAGing

I know this post is extremely late as the SAG Awards were ages ago. Let's just say my esquiring kept me from blogging. But better late than never, right?

So let's get to it! It seems Hollywood was reading my blog and tried their very hardest to make up for the sins at the Golden Globes. If they keep up this improvement, I'm super excited to see what's in store for us at the Oscars!

Worst Dressed

I think Tina Fey is hilarious. I love her to pieces. And she was pretty sure she was going to win a SAG, so why didn't she try a little harder. The fabric has a psychedlic pattern effect which I'm pretty sure is unintended, the cut is not flattering making a very skinny girl look very hippy. And I'm pretty sure I saw a 15 year old girl wear it to homecoming a few months ago.

Rosario Dawson's dress is just not pretty. The over drapeyness is just not doing it for me. And her forehead def does not match her body. She needs to get a new makeup artist stat. I know it's hard to match a lovely woman of color's skin, but it can be done.

I think Penelope was going for a dark eye-light lip look, but it didn't quite get there. Her eye actually isn't that dark, and her lips look totally washed out. It might be because they're right next to that dark, heavy, and just scary velvet. I am having an extreme visceral reaction to this look and maybe velvet can be nice, but I just generally hate this look.

Oh, nutty Nicolette. She may have thought she was heading to an Indian opium den, but got lost along the way. Look, she's even doing a traditional Indian dance.

OMG LISA RINNA PUT IT AWAY! You immediately notice the bazooms out on display, but I invite you to follow the slit all the way up to.... HER LADY BITS. We are one gust of wind away from knowing if that bikini wax was actually a brazilian.

I love ruffles, I love bows, I love soft flowiness. I should love this look. But a) the back is ridiculous but I somehow couldn't find a photo for you, b) this color totally washes her out, and c) her boobs look saggy, just because it's the SAG Awards doesn't mean the ladies should follow suit.

While Eva Longoria-Parker was the belle of the Golden Globes (I'm still dreaming about that red dress), she was definitely the scariest thing on the red carpet at SAG. The color, the strange hip frills, the aquamarine neckline that I don't think is a necklace but is actually part of the dress. All sorts of no. And her hair definitely is aging her so she does look like a desperate old housewife.

I think Emily Blunt is gorgeous. I love her always.... until I saw this photo. The first photo makes her look like hussy Megan Fox, and the second one looks like a dowdy teacher going out on the town. The pursed lips and too tight hair do nothing for her.

There was much to do about Angelina wearing this dress backwards. I don't really care about that, it's been done before. Sometimes a dress just needs to be turned around. The big story is that she has worn this exact same look to everything she's been to for the last TWO MONTHS. You're gorgeous. Even straight women fantasize about you. Why the monotone sacks every time you leave the house? At least this time it wasn't oatmeal I guess.

Okayly Dressed

Speaking of repeat outfit offenders, I'm pretty sure Jenna Fischer has worn this look to all the awards shows this season. But I could get down with this look, save for the terrible makeup job making her look tired and washed out, and that strange hemline.

I love the red, I could begin to enjoy the frills eventually. I just wish someone would give Claire a cheeseburger.

Meh. I feel like I've seen this dress before and whoever wore it last time did it better than Olivia Wilde.

I love Mad Men. You could say I'm obsessed with the looks on the show. Which probably leads to my utter disappointment when I see what the actors wear in real life. I'm sure without the Mad Men obsession, this would be perfectly cute. I really like it from the full shot, it looks darling and interesting. But up close, the neck embellishment is not quite what I had hoped.

I love love love this color. I want to wear it all day every day. It is the classy color of the season. If you don't have it already, I suggest you give it a try. But back to this look, the corsetted breast area doesn't match the flow of the ruffles, and I don't care for her lip color. Otherwise, pretty good dress.

Another Mad Men letdown. Christina Hendricks uses her curves to be the sultriest knockout an ad agency has ever seen. This look, however, just makes her look big, which is unfortunate because she isn't large. I wish I liked it more :(

Now for another Christina. Miss Applegate had a good color for her on, but the assymetrical neckline didn't quite make sense.

I like this fabric. I like this color combo, oddly enough. But America looks too skinny and I fear she may have taken up smoking to lose weight, so I just can't give her a win on principle. And the folds on her hips are a terrible idea.

Best Dressed

Kate Winslet is beautiful and she stunned everyone on the red carpet with this gorgeous blue dress. She showed off her kickin' curves to their full impact, without being vulgar. Well done, Ms. Winslet, go win yourself that Oscar.

I really really hate to admit this. No one hates Teri Hatcher more than I do, but I LOVE this Monique Lhullier dress. It was one of my favorite dresses of the night. Why God why did you make me like something she wore??? The dress is whimsical and unexpected, but not too much. And somehow even that black belt goes with the ensemble. I want it. Badly.

Julie Benz will always be Darla from Angel to me, but I guess she's grown up from being a vampire and does some show worthy of attending awards for. Her hair is perfect and soft and shiny. I love shiny. And the earrings are scrumptious (wherever do I find those for myself?). And I really like the dress. The cross at her waist is flattering, the fabric is interesting and the pleated bust is delish. Well done, Darla, now get out of the sun, we wouldn't want you to melt!

I much criticized Jennifer Morrison and her Deb prom look from the Golden Globes. Well, she pulled it around. This dress is kinda hippy dippy, but soft and lovely, just like her gorgeous hair. She seriously looks so fantastic. That headshot is to die for and I wish my hair would do that ever. *sigh*

First of all, if you haven't seen Slumdog Millionaire yet, turn off your computer this instant, buy a ticket, and go watch it immediately. Second of all, Freida Pinto is absolutely stunning. She is my new girl crush, the woman is GORGEOUS. And I love her in this color and this dress with its soft layers and flowy fabric. The halter is super flattering. And that flowy piece from the back of the halter is so delicate and feminine. Someone make her a star already, I need to see her at more of these things.

I think I'm supposed to know who Allison Pill is but I can't seem to recall right now. No matter, I will always remember this gorgeous green against her red hair. Great look. We're just going to have to overlook those unfortunate shoes.

Beautiful dress. Anne Hathaway looks young and fresh and very old hollywod glamor. Well, from the neck down it is. I hate the hair. If you are going to a big event, ladies, please remember to brush your hair at the very least.

Who knew that Marilyn Manson's young hussy of an ex-wife would be my hands down favorite look of the night. This color is deep and rich, and so so classy. The shoulder with it's opening and brooch is charming, sexy, and so beautiful. Her hair color is strange, but the soft look of it goes with the dress. I even like the purple clutch for the pop it gives without taking away attention from the dress. I just don't get those purple shoes....

Now bring on the Oscars!!!
