My Closet Would Be Sad Without...

I have been teased about my clutch "collection." I wouldn't call it a collection so much as just owning all the clutch variations I might need for any given outfit. No one tells people with 10 pairs of jeans they have a jeans collection. Collection implies I'm actively seeking out more clutches so I can display them like a bunch of creepy dolls on my mantle. I like to think of it as just being prepared.

Clutches are an essential item for any woman's closet. When going out for dinner with a special someone, hitting a show, or any other activity involving some thought to your attire, why not finish it off with a chic, small bag? The last thing I want to do when I have a hot dress and strappy heels on is to throw off the balance with a large, thick-strapped, over-the-shoulder bag. Bulk is fine for work when you need to throw files in your bag. Bulk is fine when running errands around town. But when dressing up and going out, all you need is your i.d. and a lipstick, why bring a bag big enough to fit a child? And a clutch can add the right amount of color to any outfit. Basic black dress? Add a vivid green clutch to add some visual interest to the outfit. It's all about being streamlined perfection, and carrying a clutch can get you there.
